We Talk Silently

We Talk Silently

We talk silently,
Our emotions spilling onto the screen,
Our thoughts bursting out.
We talk silently,
Smiling as we have something new to read,
Something new to understand.
I sit in silence,
Waiting,
For you,
We talk silently,
Only the beating of our hearts heard,
Then excitement,
Disturbing the wake,
Sending a wave crashing into our minds,
Allowing us to respond once more.
We talk silently,
Our mouths not moving,
Only our thoughts present,
Helping us better understand,
What is written.

The Light of Love

The Light of Love

As I fumble in the dark passageways of my heart,
A light flickers in the distance.
It brings me warmth and happiness,
And I race toward the light,
But when I reach it....
It leaves me.
Never staying long enough for my feelings of comfort to grow.
Then a different light came one day,
It stayed.
Slowly, the dark passageways grew wide,
Waterfalls flowing into cool pools of water,
Flowers blooming in every shade imaginable.
Then one day,
The light started to grow bigger,
Into a sun.
Its rays caressing me in its golden arms.
Enjoying the new found joy,
I turn to a green meadow,
Where the daisies grow wild,
Where this worlds creator is to be found.
We lay together in the soft grass,
As our hands slowly find each other,
They move as one to the tall cottonwood nearby,
They slowly carve a heart,
Surrounding initials of love,
And they kiss,
The world slowing down that very second.
She giggles,
Her laugh making the whole world brighter.
Then comes a smile,
Illuminating every inch of the soul.
Together,
We stand,
Hand in Hand,
A glow inside us,
Growing together.
The world forever shone brighter from that day forward.
Until came the day of reckoning...
When she doubted her powers,
Questioned the happiness,
And threw it all away.
My now powerless figure sat there and listened,
Cringing with every word,
Then stood up,
On his own,
Something never accomplished before,
And he spoke to her,
Telling her how wonderful she is,
How she gave him the strength he had to stand,
He reached out with a loving hand,
Hoping the maiden would take it,
Too his surprise she ran into his arms.
He carried her back into the world she made,
And as the sun rose again,
The boy felt at home,
The girl felt saved,
And happiness was restored.
He saved her from her own being,
She saved him by creating his world,
But in the end the together creating a pure love.

The Memory of Forgotten Feelings

The Memory of Forgotten Feelings

What was once thought special,
Is now just a movement,
What was once the touch of a lover,
Is now just the brushing of someones hand.
There I was with you and the stars,
Feeling like the only man in the world.
I felt....Free
I felt.... Loved
That moment was once thought special,
Until I looked upon the others.
So many others that have held you close,
That have been in that same moment.
In an instant,
That moment was lost,
Destroyed by the souls of those lost in your heart,
Those that have been hurt like I have.
I was told long before,
To be careful,
To not trust,
To not believe,
And to not love someone so close to me.
My heart would not listen to the aching screams of my mind.
I followed the bloody trail full of tears,
Only to be greeted with comfort,
With a warmth only to be given by a lover.
I held in my arms something more valuable than diamonds and gold,
And in an instant,
It all turned to water.
Flooding out of my arms,
Into the stream it came from,
The stream from along the trail of bloody tears,
Where so many disfigured hearts lay about.
He felt something so special,
And lost it in a second,
To nothing but the look on her face.
What once was so special,
Feels empty to me,
But I cherish what wisps I still have of that distant feeling.
